Free Run Producciones SLU was created by David Cánovas in 2005, with the activity of production and realization of audiovisual works. With it he produces numerous fiction short films, highlighting The intruder (2005), nominated for the Goya Awards, as well as Change of shift (2007) and The setback (2009).
He produces and directs video clips, spots and industrial films and since 2006 he has become tv shows director of Magnolia TV, directing, among others, the programs Supernanny, (Cuatro), Clever (telecinco), I am addicted (Cuatro), Women and men and vice versa(telecinco). ), MTV Tunning Spain (MTV), Lola and Virginia - TV series pilot (Magnolia TV) and for Tesauro SL, What the dead told me (TVE). In 2016 he directed two seasons of the program The Archives of the Ministry of Time, for TVE.
In 2016 he is associate producer of his debut feature film, The tip of the iceberg, produced by Tornasol films and starring Maribel Verdú and Carmelo Gómez. In 2025 he releases the feature-length documentary “Miguel Velázquez, the professor of the ring” that tells the life of the best Canarian boxer in history, world champion and protagonist of what is still considered the best fight in the history of Spanish boxing today: Carrasco vs Velázquez.
Free Run Producciones SLU, together with Antonio Hernández Ruiz, creates and produces the educational film festival CINEDFEST, with great success in the educational community. As a result, in 2018, he created the Free Run Educa educational association, for the management and production of educational and cultural projects, devising Miniteatrofest (educational theater festival) and executing the Filmed Books project every year.
Since 2021, Free Run Producciones SLU also provides location an scouting services, filming permits, coastal permits rental and production management in the Canary Islands for national and international productions, such as those carried out the first and second seasons of the international TV program, Discovering Canary Islands from Rakuten TV.
